Following in the path of nearby New York City, Nassau County is reconsidering a ban of trans fats from restaurant kitchens and a mandate that operators post calorie counts for each food item they offer. County executive Thomas Suozzi called for the restrictions some three months after Nassau's legislature voted down similar legislation forcing local restaurateurs to ban artificial trans fats.
