Long John Silver’s has named Paula Ashley-Rogness vice president of media and field marketing, a previously vacant position.

In her new role she is responsible for the quick-service seafood brand’s analysis and strategy for national and local media planning.

Rogness returned to Long John Silver’s from her most recent post as vice president of field marketing for Dublin, Ohio-based Wendy’s. Before that stint, she had spent more than 20 years in the marketing department at Louisville, Ky.-based Long John Silver’s.

In her prior career with Long John Silver’s as director of media and field marketing, Rogness was recognized with several internal awards for marketing achievements, including saving the brand more than $1 million in national media expenditures, the company said.

Chief marketing officer Charles St. Clair, to whom Rogness will report, said in a statement that she was “a go-to leader for market growth.”

“[Rogness’] knowledge and experience, combined with her established understanding of the Long John Silver’s brand, puts us in a position to make great strides in the industry,” St. Clair said. “Media and field marketing will play a vital role during the upcoming years as we work to revitalize the Long John Silver’s brand. I am thrilled that Paula will be leading these efforts during such an exciting time for Long John Silver’s.”

The seafood chain, formerly a subsidiary of Louisville-based Yum! Brands Inc. before a 2011 divestiture to LJS Partners, has added executive personnel like chief food innovation officer Marie Zhang this year and has overhauled its menu for the first time in several years.

The brand operates or franchises more than 1,275 restaurants in the United States and Asia.
