Susanna Foo to close restaurant in Philly

PHILADELPHIA Renowned chef Susanna Foo said she would close her Philadelphia restaurant, Susanna Foo Chinese Cuisine, on June 13

The restaurateur, who has been serving Chinese food in Philadelphia for the past 30 years, will continue to operate Susanna Foo Gourmet Kitchen in Radnor, Pa.

“I am so proud to be a Philadelphian,” Foo said. “I have made so many friends here and look forward to making many more, as I spend time closer to home in Radnor.”

As a thank-you to patrons frequenting the Walnut Street restaurant until it closes, Foo is offering her guests a 20-percent-off voucher for dinner at her restaurant in Radnor.

Foo is the recipient of several culinary honors, including the 1997 James Beard Award for Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic Region. Her restaurant in Philadelphia was inducted into Nation’s Restaurant News’ Fine Dining Hall of Fame during the same year.
