Domino’s Pizza 2Q profit rises 18.5%

Same-store sales growth drives positive results

Domino’s Pizza Inc. reported double-digit growth in net income and revenue for its June 16-ended second quarter, driven by a same-store sales growth of 6.7 percent in the United States and its 78th consecutive quarter of comparable-sales growth in its international division. The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based chain also opened nine net new stores domestically to go along with 101 net new units in its international system of more than 70 foreign markets.

NET INCOME

Result: $33.3 million, or 57 cents per share
% Increase: 18.5% (from $28.1 million, or 47 cents per share)

REVENUE

Result: $414 million
% Increase: 10.1% (from $376.1 million)

SAME-STORE SALES

% Increase: 6.7% for domestic restaurants, 5.8% for international units
