In a recent research note, securities analyst Mark Kalinowski of Janney Capital Markets estimated that Wendy’s new “urban” restaurant prototype could drive same-store sales at remodeled units and new builds.
The reimaging benefit, as well as new product lines possible in upgraded locations, such as Redhead Roasters premium coffee, could help Wendy’s surpass Burger King as the second-largest American burger brand in terms of market share, Kalinowski wrote.
