Applebee’s International Inc. is a casual-dining chain with 1,871 U.S. locations and more than $4.4 billion in U.S. systemwide sales. It’s a division of Glendale, Calif.-based DineEquity Inc., the publicly trade company (Ticker: DIN) that also owns IHOP Corp. Applebee’s was acquired by IHOP in 2007, and the combined company became DineEquity. Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar has been expanding its late-night bar and menu offerings.
