Carl's Jr.

Founded in 1941 by the late Carl Karcher, the Carl’s Jr. chain includes 1,349 restaurants, mostly in Western and Southern states. The quick-service burger chain is owned by Carpinteria, Calif.-based CKE Restaurants Inc., which also operates and franchises the Hardee’s brand. Carl’s Jr. is also co-branded with the Mexican Green Burrito concept.
