Sonic Drive-In

Sonic is the nation’s largest drive-in sandwich chain, with more than 3,560 locations and nearly $3.7 billion in U.S. systemwide sales. It is owned by Oklahoma City, Okla.-based Sonic Corp., which has been publicly traded (Ticker: SONC) since 1991. It started in 1953 as Top Hat Drive-In, a hamburger and root beer stand in Shawnee, Okla., and now has drive-ins in 43 states coast to coast.
