MIAMI Burger King Holdings has awarded exclusive development rights for Hong Kong and Macau to a subsidiary of North Asia Strategic Holdings Ltd., a diversified industrial holding company. Its first downtown Hong Kong restaurant is scheduled to open by this December and will be the third unit in Hong Kong.
"North Asia Strategic has a history of business success in Hong Kong, and they understand how to thrive in the region," said Peter Tan, president of Burger King Asia Pacific, headquartered in Singapore. The existing units are located at the airport and at a tourist attraction known as The Peak.
Burger King operates or franchises more than 11,100 restaurants in the United States and more than 65 countries and U.S. territories.
