CARROLLTON Texas T.G.I. Friday's said its restaurants would offer drink specials, discounted appetizers, a toast and other festivities on Jan. 20, the day Barack Obama is sworn in as president.
Calling the celebration the "World's Largest Inauguration Party," T.G.I. Friday's said bartenders at its 930 restaurants around the world would lead customers in a toast at 9 p.m. local time.
“We look for any excuse to have a great time, and the inauguration was the perfect way to get a party going on a Tuesday,” said Andrew Jordan, senior vice president of marketing for T.G.I. Friday’s USA.
T.G.I. Friday's said it would announce more detailed party plans in the coming weeks. So far, plans call for free party buttons, drink specials, half-price appetizers with the purchase of an entrŽe at U.S. locations and benefits for members of the chain's Give Me More Stripes loyalty program.
