Geppetto's deploys, promotes online ordering

CLEVELAND Fifteen-unit Geppetto's Pizza and Ribs, based here, is using a "Take Me Home" promotional campaign from Roberts Advertising to leverage a new website and online ordering technology from the ONOSYS division of O-Web Technologies Ltd.

Geppetto's president Mike O'Malley said that within three days of the website's launch, "we saw 32 [online] orders. "Moreover," he noted, "we saw a jump in average ticket size for online ordering, which was a key reason for deciding to go online."

The ordering technology from Orange Village, Ohio-based ONOSYS recently was being used for pickup and delivery business by 11 Geppetto's units. ONOSYS officials said the company's technology shows Geppetto's online customers the store nearest their location, remembers their favorite orders, learns their food preferences and delivers their requests to restaurants using fax machines or Internet Protocol capable printers.
