LOUISVILLE Ky. KFC is promoting its new Two Originals meal with a contest for families to highlight their holiday traditions.
Until Dec. 11, entrants can upload photos or videos to www.KFC.com that feature their families’ holiday traditions, from dressing in matching sweaters to decorating in unusual ways. KFC will select 12 semi-finalists, and beginning Dec. 15 the chain will ask the public to vote on the most original one. The top winner gets $1,000 and a year of free Two Originals Meals. The 11 semi-finalists get a month of the meals.
KFC’s Two Originals Meal includes five pieces of Original Recipe chicken, four Original Recipe Strips, two large home-style sides and four buttermilk biscuits for $14.99.
The company said the promotion follows in company founder Harland Sanders’ footsteps.
“At KFC, we’re all about families, and one of the Colonel’s favorite occasions was gathering families ‘round a good meal,'” said Javier Benito, executive vice president of marketing and food innovation. “This contest will celebrate the most original holiday family traditions and encourage families to start a few new ones with our new family meal option.”
Last holiday season, KFC searched for the most festively decorated home in a similar promotion.
