Pink Taco names Berghammer president

LOS ANGELES Industry veteran Arich Berghammer has been named president of the three-unit Pink Taco casual-dining chain, officials announced Wednesday.

Berghammer was previously chief operating officer of SBE Restaurant and Nightlife Group, which operates restaurants and clubs such as Katsuya, The Abbey, Area and Hyde. Both the Group and Pink Taco are based here.

Pink Taco, a Mexican concept, was founded by Harry Morton, son of Hard Rock Café founder Peter Morton and grandson of Morton’s Steakhouse chain founder Arnie Morton.

“Arich will oversee all aspects necessary to achieve my vision of building the next great global Mexican brand,” said Harry Morton, chief executive of the chain’s parent company, Pink Taco LLC. “We look forward to making some noise together as we grow, develop and brand the company worldwide.”

Prior to working at SBE, Berghammer spent about a decade building the House of Blues chain as national chief of staff and national senior director of operations. He was also an operating partner in acclaimed Los Angeles-area restaurants such as Water Grill and Ocean Avenue Seafood.

Pink Taco has locations in Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Los Angeles.
