Pizza Hut has relaunched its website to make online ordering faster and more intuitive, the company said Tuesday.
Pizza Hut, which has more than 10,000 locations worldwide, also said it expects to hit $2 billion in online sales by the end of this year.
New features on www.pizzahut.com include:
- Visual pizzas: Visual versions of orders, similar to the chain's iPhone/iPad app, guide customers throughout the ordering process, displaying crust types and toppings as patrons customize orders. Images of items appear in the shopping cart to help prevent ordering mistakes.
- Order memory: The site remembers customers and allows for two-click reordering of favorites.
- Spanish version: A new Spanish-ordering site was launched in tandem with the English site. http://espanol.pizzahut.com/enes/
"We're excited about the new improvements to our largest and most successful storefront," Brian Niccol, chief marketing officer for Pizza Hut, said in a statement Tuesday.
The new website comes as Pizza Hut regains some momentum in sales after struggling throughout the recession. Parent company Yum! Brands Inc. reported last week that same-store sales rose 5 percent at its domestic Pizza Hut restaurants.
