GOLDEN VALLEY Minn. Schussler Creative Inc., based here, said it will open the company’s second T-Rex Café on Wednesday at Downtown Disney in Orlando, Fla.
Steven Schussler, founder and chief executive of Schussler Creative and creator of the Rainforest Café concept, said the 30,000-square-foot, 600-seat restaurant incorporates some changes from the original, which opened in 2006 in Kansas City, Kan.
Those changes include the addition of a 5,000-gallon shark tank and a “Discovery Creek,” where child guests can pan for replica gems and fossils. The concept’s open kitchen also has been expanded for wider view of the cooking, Schussler said.
Both T-Rex Café locations were built in partnership with Landry’s Restaurants Inc. of Houston and feature animated dinosaurs and other prehistoric themes. Schussler also created Yak & Yeti at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.
