Condado Tacos declared winner of Nation’s Restaurant News’ Taco Showdown

The casual-dining chain features cool flavors like Taco Bell, but ‘on steroids’

Condado Tacos has been named the winner of Nation’s Restaurant News’ Taco Showdown, in which eight emerging taco restaurants competed for the crown.

Tacos are a staple across the country, and restaurant brands are working hard to differentiate themselves in the space. Some focus on tacos from a specific region, such as the Yucatan Peninsula, while others rely on flavor combinations like chicken tikka.

Condado Tacos fits the latter description, offering menu options with a “flair for spice and flavors,” according to president CEO Chris Artinian, who spoke with NRN in April.

NRN readers were invited to vote on Instagram and LinkedIn, and last week two finalists were named. The other finalist was Torchy’s Tacos, a fast-casual brand with 110 restaurants in 14 states that has stuck to its mission of being “damn good.”

Meet all eight taco chains here, and stay tuned for NRN’s next showdown launching in mid-June.
