California Pizza Kitchen named Judd Tirnauer to the role of chief financial officer and executive vice president, the company said Tuesday.
The move comes a few weeks after the Los Angeles-based casual-dining chain emerged from bankruptcy. Tirnauer, who served previously as CFO for the Black Angus Steakhouse chain, will lead CPK’s financial restructuring strategy, focus on growth opportunities and oversee the accounting and finance teams, the company said.
“CPK is proud to welcome Judd to the team,” said Jim Hyatt, CEO of CPK, in a statement. “With his proven track record in finance with both public and private equity brands, we are confident in Judd’s expertise and ability to lead CPK’s financial strategy and build on the company’s business momentum.”
Before working for Black Angus, Tirnauer worked with Real Mex Restaurants and the Wet Seal retail brand. He also spent 15 years with Destination Maternity Corp., parent to A Pea in the Pod, Destination Maternity, Motherhood Maternity and Mimi Maternity.
CPK operates or franchises more than 200 restaurants in eight countries and U.S. territories. The company emerged from bankruptcy in November after a restructuring that eliminated more than $220 million in debt with a majority of equity held by lenders.
