BURLINGTON Vt. The Bruegger’s bakery-cafe chain has kicked off its annual promotion of allowing patrons to pay a three-figure upfront price for limitless refills of coffee, tea or soda for a year. The price this year ranges by location from $109 to $149, which the chain is marketing as the equivalent of 50-cent coffee for every day of the year.
Acoupon book of special offers valued at $40 is included in the Bottomless Mug Club deal, which the 283-unit chain began marketing this week. Memberships will be sold through Jan. 6.
Patrons who buy a mug, membership card or key tag are entitled to the unlimited beverages until Dec. 31, 2009.
The Bottomless Mug Club was introduced in 2004. A different mug is offered every year. This year’s version features a stainless steel and copper finish.
Private-equity firm Sun Capital Partners owns the chain’s operator and franchisor Bruegger’s Enterprises, which is based in Burlington.
