SPARTANBURG S.C. Denny’s Corp., in the most recent change to its executive ranks, has named Michelle Hunt to the newly created position of director of supplier diversity.
In her new role Hunt will make sure that minority and women-owned supplier companies are given equal opportunities to compete for Denny’s business. She also will serve as a liaison with minority- and women-owned suppliers as well as with local, regional and national business organizations.
Hunt, who has been with Denny’s since 1995, was previously manager of supplier diversity and helped with the development and implementation of Denny’s Supplier Diversity Program.
Denny’s, the nation’s largest family-dining chain, is in the middle of a corporate restructuring that has included staff layoffs, the aggressive refranchising of corporate stores, and the divesture of real estate assets.
Last week the company also announced a series of management changes. As part of the reorganization, four C-level positions now report directly to the company’s president and chief executive, Nelson Marchioli.
The Denny’s system includes 373 corporate locations and 1,177 franchised units.
