CREATE conference attendees to be treated to country music and sausage creations at kickoff party

CREATEFEST, A Johnsonville Jam, will feature a performance by The Dryes

Attendees of CREATE: The Event for Emerging Restaurateurs in Nashville Oct. 9-11 will be treated to new menu creations and a country music show on Wednesday the 9th at CREATEFEST, A Johnsonville Jam, sponsored by Johnsonville Foodservice.

Performing at the event will be husband-and-wife duo The Dryes, who appeared on season 22 of The Voice on NBC and were then recognized as a promising new duo on the NBC’s “Today” show. They have since produced hit singles “Dolly Would” and “House on Fire,” both of which reached #1 on Country Music TV’s 12 Pack Countdown.

Attendees will also be able to sample the following menu items developed using Johnsonville products:

• Sausage Ravioli with Bolognese Sauce, developed by Border Grill executive chef John Baez with Johnsonville’s Ultimate Italian Sausage

Sausage-Stuffed Turkey Leg with Tangy Black-Eyed Peas & Kale Slaw, created by Dontre’Al Haigler, product development chef at Denny’s using Johnsonville Ultimate Stadium Brat and Ultimate Hot ‘n Spicy Sausage

Quesabirriawurst, made by Taco John’s corporate chef and director of menu innovation, Brad Bergaus, using the Johnsonville Ultimate Stadium Brat, and

•Slow Cooked Pork Bolognese with Mezze Maniche Pasta, made with Johnsonville Ultimate Italian Sausage by One Table Restaurants’ vice president of culinary innovations, Pete Balestreri

An expert group of judges will select a winner from among these never-before-seen dishes and Johnsonville Foodservice will present a $5,000 donation on the winning chef’s behalf to Pathways Kitchen, a Nashville non-profit organization whose mission is to help justice-impacted youth thrive by providing training, work opportunities, and individualized support to ensure they can chart their own path forward.
