The Kroger Co. this week opened its second ghost kitchen through its partnership with Kitchen United.
The new Kitchen United MIX restaurant hub is located inside the Kroger supermarket in The Heights section of Houston.
Kroger customers can buy food from 15 vendors at the Houston Kitchen United Mix location and group their orders on one receipt.
Food can be ordered in person at a touchscreen station, online or via a mobile device.
Kitchen United operates the restaurant kitchen, and restaurant staff prepare the orders.
The kitchen sends out finished meals on rollers to ready orders for customers.
Customers can get their food on the spot or receive their orders via pickup or delivery.
The opening of the Houston Kitchen United MIX facility follows a location launched in a Ralphs supermarket in Los Angeles last month.
