Chipotle Mexican Grill hopes guests will reward a friend for getting vaccinated against COVID on July 6 by buying them a free meal.
The Newport Beach, Calif.-based chain on Wednesday announced a buy-one-entree, get-one-free offer from 3 p.m. to close on July 6 to anyone who says “Friends BOGO” at the register at check out. The company said the offer supports the White House’s ongoing effort to encourage Americans to get vaccinated this summer.
However, no proof of vaccination will be required or even requested.
Chipotle joins Krispy Kreme and Panera on the list of brands taking part in the White House’s National Month of Action. Krispy Kreme is offering a free donut all year to those who can show proof of vaccination, and Panera is offering a free bagel to the vaccinated between July 2-4.
In addition, in honor of Independence Day, Chipotle is asking guests to round up their change to the nearest dollar on July 1-14 to donate to Folds of Honor, a program that funds college scholarships for families of fallen and disabled service members.
Chipotle has more than 2,800 locations across the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
