Industry veteran to oversee menu R&D in newly created position

Twin Peaks has named industry veteran Pete Bell to the newly created position of chief marketing officer, the company said Wednesday.

Twin Peaks, a division of Addison, Texas-based Front Burner Restaurants LP, said Bell will oversee the sports lodge’s marketing communications and strategy, as well as menu research and development.

Bell was most recently CMO at Specialty Brands Holdings, parent to the Papa Gino’s Pizzeria, D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches and Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group. Specialty Brands is a holding of Boston-based private-equity firm Bunker Hill Capital.

“Peter is the perfect fit to spearhead our marketing efforts and we are thrilled to have him on board,” said Randy DeWitt, CEO of Twin Peaks, in a statement. “His expertise is going to be instrumental as we continue to expand our brand.”

Prior to Specialty Brands, Bell was CMO at Orlando, Fla.-based Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill.

“I am very excited to join the Twin Peaks team and for the opportunity to be a part of the company during such an exciting time,” Bell said. “Twin Peaks is one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in the country, and I look forward to building on that momentum as we continue to develop and expand the brand.”

Last year, Twin Peaks opened its first in-house brewery. This year, it began selling its Dirty Blonde and Knotty Brunette beers at retail stores.

Twin Peaks said it expects to open 15 restaurants this year. The chain currently has 67 locations in 23 states.
