With chicken wing prices out of control, Wingstop in June launched a virtual brand called Thighstop, offering a lower-cost part of the chicken that aficionados say is also the tastiest part.
Apparently that experiment was a success, as the chain has now integrated thighs into its main menu.
That’s not the only supply-chain-related menu news this week. Baskin-Robbins’ Flavor of the Month for September is only hitting shops this coming Monday for the same reason. It’s an apple-flavored treat, and so are the limited-time offers from BJ’s, Bruster’s, Krispy Kreme and Bad Ass Coffee.
Bad Ass Coffee and Krispy Kreme also have seasonal pumpkin specials, because of course they do. So do Bennigan’s, Dairy Queen, Perkins and Yogurtland.
Portillo’s, on the other hand, has a salted caramel milkshake.
Big Boy — not Frisch’s; the other one — has a bunch of new entrées, Bob Evans has avocadoes now, and Cotton Patch Cafe has new items with brisket
Pizza Inn has a new pan pizza, Chuck E. Cheese’s virtual brand, Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings, has a new meatball lineup, Jinya Ramen Bar has a bunch of new vegan options and Carrabba’s Italian Grill is giving its guests a chance to compare Californian and Italian wines.
And Velvet Taco’s Weekly Taco Feature is inspired by the Peruvian dish Lomo Saltado.
