Corner Bakery-Boston Market, McDonald’s growth, Subway closures

The owner of Corner Bakery is suing Boston Market, and a few other folks connected with the chain. SSCP Restaurant Investors is suing Boston Market, owner Jay Pandya and several others accusing them of “shocking, systemic breaches of fiduciary duties” in the two and a half years that Pandya owned Corner Bakery.

McDonald's may have more than 13,000 U.S. locations, but they think there's room for more. If the company hits its goal of adding about 10,000 more locations worldwide by 2027, including 900 in the U.S., it will mark the fastest period of growth in the company's 69-year history.

Subway has closed 23 locations in Oregon and Washington. A local franchisee of the sandwich giant closed the locations after their franchise agreement was terminated, according to local reports.

Pasta lovers rejoice. Olive Garden this week relaunched its popular Never-Ending Pasta Bowl promotion, providing an early peek to loyalty members and social-media followers.
