The Prosper Forum selected No Kid Hungry, a national campaign focused on ending childhood hunger in America, as its spotlight cause for 2024 and 2025. The Prosper Forum is a premier community of professionals with one shared goal: to elevate the future of foodservice and hospitality. As a part of this impact-driven partnership, Prosper Forum and No Kid Hungry will launch the “Better, Together” program, which will enable the Prosper Forum community to take part in social impact engagements throughout the year, including a fireside chat happening this Spring with Danny Meyer, restaurateur, hospitality expert and founder and executive chairman of Union Square Hospitality Group and Billy Shore, founder and chairman of Share Our Strength, the organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign.
Prosper’s founder and CEO David Jobe will also be joining the No Kid Hungry Dine Advisory Board, a board of leading restaurant industry executives coming together to elevate the role that the restaurant and foodservice industry plays in ending childhood hunger. Moreover, Prosper will champion No Kid Hungry’s efforts to end summer hunger — a major focus for the campaign as summer is the hungriest time of year for millions of kids across the country.
“We are thrilled to be supporting No Kid Hungry again in 2024 and 2025,” said Jobe. “We know this is a cause close to the industry’s heart and ending childhood hunger is a key part of achieving our mission of elevating the future of diverse talent within the foodservice and hospitality industry. We can’t do that if kids are hungry. This is our future workforce and these are the communities we serve.”
“We’re so honored to have been selected as Prosper’s spotlight charity again in 2024 and 2025 and to have the opportunity to do even more together” said Sara Jamshidi, director of corporate partnerships at Share Our Strength. “No Kid Hungry is leading the national effort to end summer hunger and we have a big fundraising goal of $50 million to support community summer meal programs across the country and ensure no child goes hungry in the summer. We believe the restaurant industry can lead the way in helping us achieve this goal. By launching ‘Better, Together,’ we can bring more attention to how restaurants can get involved throughout the year to support this critical issue and advance their social impact and business priorities.”
One in five kids in the United States face hunger, and No Kid Hungry is working to change that — to ensure all kids, no matter their circumstance, have access to three healthy meals a day, 365 days a year.
