Starbucks is ditching discounts. The coffee shop chain has ended the pairings value menu and has reduced the discounts offered mostly to customers on its app.

KFC’s new ad campaign highlights both its chicken tenders and its new standing in the fast-food business. The company debuted Original Recipe Tenders this week. The chain also used the opportunity to take a shot at rival Popeyes, both in its announcement and in a promotion offering free tenders to customers in Baton Rouge and New Orleans in Louisiana and Atlanta.

Restaurants in the Southeast are facing another challenge in trying to rebound from Hurricanes Milton and Helene. According to the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the agency is days away from running out of money to lend restaurants and other small businesses struggling to recover from the storms.

Meanwhile, restaurateurs in Florida are assessing the damage from Hurricane Milton. The First Watch breakfast-and-lunch chain said Monday that 85 of its corporate stores were closed for at least one day after the storm hit, and 8 are still out of operation.
