Virtual food hall company Wonder has announced plans to purchase food ordering and delivery platform Grubhub from its current owner, Just Eat Takeaway.com. That purchase would follow Wonder’s acquisition of meal kit service Blue Apron in 2023.

Restaurant employees can no longer be required to hear management’s arguments for keeping a staff union-free. The National Labor Relations Board ruled Wednesday that the so-called captive-audience sessions are coercive and hence illegal under federal labor regulations.

CAVA’s momentum continued through the third quarter, with same-store sales up by 18.1%, driven largely by a 12.9% increase in traffic. CEO Brett Schulman cited a “confluence of factors” fueling the company’s growth, including white space and demand for Mediterranean cuisine, new menu news such as its first pita chips flavor variation, a focus on hospitality in an otherwise transactional environment, and operational tech initiatives such as a labor scheduling and deployment model.
