Tossed names Jason Chodash president

Tossed, the fast-casual brand specializing in salads, crêpe wraps and sandwiches, has named Jason Chodash to the post of president.

Chodash, who founded the chain in 2004, and most recently served as executive vice president, takes over as president from Eric Schmitt, who will continue to serve as chief executive.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company said the two executives will focus on growing Tossed in markets across North America. Currently, the chain has locations in Northeastern, East Central and Southeastern United States.

Earlier this year Tossed signed development deals for Southern California and British Columbia, Canada. The chain, which has about six units, scaled back from a high of 12 last year.

“In planning for the future, our company felt the need to broaden the responsibilities of both the president and CEO posts to facilitate our expansion,” said Chodash, who founded the chain in 1998. “Eric and I have always had a strong working relationship, and we feel confident this new distribution of duties will allow us to better meet Tossed’s corporate goals.”
