Accuvia names Ozawa president

POTOMAC Md. Accuvia, a technology consulting, events and publishing firm, has named Mark Ozawa president.

Ozawa will report directly to Accuvia chairman and chief executive Robert Grimes. In his new post, Ozawa will oversee day-to-day operations of Accuvia’s business. Ozawa previously served as managing director of the Accuvia Consulting group, a post he had held since 2005. During that time Accuvia has grown domestically and internationally in the foodservice, hospitality and retail technology industries. Before joining Accuvia, Ozawa led Sceptre, a lodging reservations and electronic distribution services company.

Tracy Libertino, who joined Accuvia last January as senior director of retail consulting and corporate alliances, succeeds Ozawa as managing director of consulting.

Grimes said the personnel changes “underscore Accuvia’s commitment to the industry and confidence in the global opportunities ahead.”

In July, Grimes signed an area development deal with Fresh City, the 17-unit fast-casual concept based in Needham, Mass. Grimes, who also is the co-founder with Nation’s Restaurant News of the International Technology Foodservice Exposition, or FS/TEC, agreed to develop at least 40 outlets over the next 12 years in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

He has formed Capitol Fresh LLC to open and operate Fresh City locations and said he plans to appoint a vice president of operations. The first unit is scheduled to open late this year or in early 2008.

Accuvia is based in Potomac, Md.
