DAYTON Ohio Eleven restaurants here have teamed with their local restaurant association to test a joint reservations service for groups of 20 or more. The new program, known as Restaurant Concierge, will will serve the participating chain and independent restaurants as a centralized booking service for corporate events, personal celebrations, and buffet or catering events either on or off-site, said Lisa Grigsby, marketing director for the Miami Valley Restaurant Association.
The participants described the effort as a pilot program, suggesting that it could be expanded or duplicated elsewhere. Restaurant associations are striving to draw more members by offering more services, and thereby strengthen their traditional role as advocates for the industry's interests.
Amy Zahora, the MVRA’s director of sales and new business development, will oversee the endeavor. The pilot program’s participants are Amber Rose, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bullwinkles, C’est Tout, Cena, The Dock, El Meson, Giovanni’s, Heatherwood Golf Club, Hickory River Smokehouse and Jay’s Restaurant.
