This recent ad from McDonald’s takes place on a retro electric football game board. As the game begins, one of the player game pieces breaks away and heads in the direction of a Big Mac sandwich.
The football reference is not a coincidence: The chain announced last year a multi-year deal to be an official sponsor of the National Football League. This week, McDonald’s also began testing a bundled meal called the “Blitz Box” in Kansas City, Mo. The deal is a tie-in with the Kansas City Chiefs, the test city’s NFL team.
