The Austin, Texas-based Sprinkles bakery chain has named Allison Schulder to the role of chief financial officer, the company said Tuesday.
Schulder, who served previously as CFO for True Food Kitchen, will oversee the growth of both franchise and company-owned Sprinkles bakeries worldwide. The chain is scheduled to launch franchising this year.
She replaces former CFO Vicki Kraft.
“I am thrilled to welcome Allison to the Sprinkles team,” said Dan Mesches, Sprinkles’ president and CEO. “She is a strategic leader who. Has a proven track record of leading the financial operations at premium consumer brands and transitioning them to stand-alone growth companies.”
Mesches added that Sprinkles is headed for “monumental growth” over the next five years. In addition to expanding its direct-to-consumer focus, the bakeries are adding new and innovative product lines, as well as traditional and nontraditional bakery locations domestically and internationally.
At True Foods Kitchen, Schulder helped secure multiple financing rounds supporting the brand’s expansion from 14 to 39 restaurants. She has also led financial functions for brands including P.F. Chang’s, American Express and Starwood Hotels.
Known for its premium cupcakes, Sprinkles was founded in Beverly Hills, Calif., in 2005. The brand has grown to include layer cakes, cookies and brownies, and launched a national shipping platform. The chain includes more than 40 bakeries and Cupcake ATMs.
