The new year is a time of contradictions in terms of what people eat. It’s the season for resolutions when many people try to eat more healthfully, but it’s also cold and dark outside, which can be depressing, so people reach for a sugary pick-me-up. And of course Valentine’s Day is a holiday for extra chocolate.
Many restaurant chains have come up with special sweets for this time of year. Some have already come and gone, but there are plenty that are still on the menu.
Chocolate fans can enjoy desserts from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Cinnaholic, McAlister’s Deli, Native Foods, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Outback Steakhouse, Perkins, Sonic Drive-in, Taco Cabana, and Wetzel’s Pretzels.
Baskin-Robbins, on the other hand, is currently offering a flavor of the month inspired by chicken & waffles, Krystal is glazing its biscuits doughnut-style, Freddy’s is celebrating its birthday with a special shake, and Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has miniature strawberry cheesecake.
