Cracker Barrel chief marketing officer Jennifer Tate steps down

This is the second executive change for the Lebanon, Tenn.-based restaurant chain this summer

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. senior vice president and chief marketing officer Jennifer Tate is leaving the company on Aug. 25, 2023, to “pursue other professional opportunities,” according to an 8-K SEC filing from Aug. 21. The Lebanon, Tenn.-based casual dining restaurant has not yet announced a replacement for the CMO position.

This is the second executive change Cracker Barrel announced this summer, following the appointment of former Taco Bell executive Julie Felss Masino as CEO in July. Masino assumed the role of CEO-elect on Aug. 7, and is currently in the transition period before outgoing CEO Sandra Cochran steps down.

Jennifer Tate worked as the chief marketing officer for Cracker Barrel for three years, from Sept. 2020 until now. Before that, she held multiple executive leadership roles at Darden, including most recently, executive vice president of marketing at Olive Garden, where she worked from 2017 to 2020. As CMO of Cracker Barrel, Tate oversaw brand management and development, public relations, digital marketing and advertising strategy, among other roles.

As of April 2023, Cracker Barrel, has 660 company-owned Cracker Barrel locations in 45 states and owns the fast-casual Maple Street Biscuit Co.
