CKE Restaurants Inc. of Carpinteria, Calif., parent of the Carl's Jr. and Hardee's quick-service chains, and Taco Bueno Restaurants LP of Carrollton, Texas, both have selected point-of –sale-system software and other applications from Xpient Solutions LLC of Charlotte, N.C.
Xpient sources said CKE has completed a rollout of the vendor's Intelligent Restaurant Information Systems, or IRIS, POS application to its 400-plus, company-operated Carl's Jr. restaurants and is preparing to do likewise at nearly 700 CKE-owned Hardee's sites. CKE also acquired for all company restaurants licenses for Xpient's Enterprise Data Manager, eIntelligence and Exception Based Monitoring System modules, as well as software for credit card and gift card processing, labor scheduling and inventory management, the vendor said.
CKE also designated Xpient as a preferred supplier for franchisees.
Mike Liby, executive vice president of operations development and training for CKE, said Xpients' applications "deliver the functionality and flexibility" needed to help his organization to grow and adapt to changing business environments.
Taco Bueno, according to Xpient, is rolling out IRIS, Enterprise Data Manager, Exception Based Monitoring System, eKitchen and the credit-gift and labor scheduling modules. It said the chain added those applications to the first of its 153 company and franchised restaurants in November and anticipates completing the systemwide deployment by May.
Taco Bueno vice president of information technology Jay Reed said his company was impressed by Xpient's service as well as by its software.
