Cincinnati-based Graeter’s Ice Cream has been around for an impressive 154 years and distributes its ice creams at 56 shops and in retail through select Kroger locations.
Yet despite that growth, Graeter’s still hand-crafts every pint of ice cream by the same standards laid out by founder Louis Graeter.
Chip Graeter, head of the company’s retail operations, joined the latest episode of Take-Away with Sam Oches to explain why Graeter’s dedication to quality has been key to its longevity.
In this conversation, you’ll learn more about why:
- Family businesses need smart people from outside the business to help
- Retail could be a smarter growth path than franchising
- You don’t have to sacrifice your quality standards to grow
- Kids can help you unlock brand longevity
- A long-lasting business requires constant reinvestment
