Potbelly is the latest restaurant chain to feel some heat from activist investors. In a letter penned to Potbelly’s board of directors and management team, Immersion Investments, one of the chain’s top 20 shareholders, urged immediate action to maximize value for shareholders.

Chick-fil-A is deepening its footprint in the family entertainment space. The chain has announced the creation of its new app, called Chick-fil-A Play. The app has been in the works for nearly two years and features free, original and curated content meant to create opportunities for families to engage with each other.

McDonald’s has been thrust into the political limelight this presidential season. And the spotlight shone especially brightly on the fast-food giant over the weekend, when former President Donald Trump worked the fry station at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania. The moment was a gimmick to further one of the oddest issues: Whether his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, actually spent a summer in the 1990s working at a California location. Trump has claimed, without evidence, that Harris never worked there, an unfounded claim he repeated again on Sunday.
