McDonald’s has opened its first “On the Go” concept, which focuses on drive-thru and takeout orders in Los Angeles. The test concept is focused on digital orders and is the first to feature lockers for delivery orders.

Raising Cane’s marketing strategy is a master class in branding genius that other restaurants can learn from. The chicken finger specialist has created an engaging mix of a great origin story, a celebrity CEO who brings a steady flow of celebrity friends, and a restaurant opening ground game that clinches local fans.

The Los Angeles City Council voted last week to raise airport and select hotel workers’ wages to $30 an hour as of 2028. The pay floor will be raised in successive steps that commence in February, with the minimum wage for those staff members rising to $22.50.

The restaurant industry has dominated this year’s list of the nation’s top lobbyists. According to The Hill, the 2024 list included three federal lobbyists from the National Restaurant Association: Sean Kennedy, Matt Walker and Dan Roehl, as well Ashley Coneff, government affairs specialist for Inspire Brands; and Steve Danon, of Restaurant Brands International.
