NASHVILLE Tenn. Sandra Clingan Smith has rejoined Captain D's Seafood as vice president of marketing, a job she held there from 1995 to 1999.
Smith replaces Bob Kendzior, who left the 600-unit chain several months ago. Smith will direct brand development, print and broadcast campaigns, promotion planning and local-store marketing strategy. She will report to president and chief operating officer David Head.
During her previous time with Captain D's she was credited with helping the chain achieve 3 percent same-store sales growth over four years.
Most recently Smith was vice president of marketing for eye-care company EyeAmerica. She also has held marketing positions with Hardee's Food Systems Inc., Quaker Oats Co., Frito-Lay Inc. and Louis Dreyfus Corp.
