Brinker International Inc. has promoted Joseph Taylor to serve as chief financial officer, the company said Tuesday.
Taylor, who has been serving as interim CFO at the Dallas-based parent of the Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy brands, succeeds Tom Edwards, who stepped down as CFO in April to take a role outside the restaurant industry.
"We are thrilled to announce Joe's promotion to CFO," said Wyman Roberts, Brnker CEO and president, said in a statement. "His extensive industry background and experience, coupled with his deep knowledge of Brinker and our strategic initiatives, will continue to be an asset to our team."
Taylor joined Brinker in 1999 as vice president of finance and has held multiple leadership roles in finance, communications and public policy. Prior to Brinker, Taylor served as vice president for Banc America Securities and Bank of America, Inc.
"I'm honored to have this opportunity and to continue partnering with our talented team members and supporting our iconic brands," Taylor said.
As of June 28, Brinker owned, operated or franchised 1,674 casual-dining restaurants, including 1,622 Chili’s and 52 Maggiano’s.
