Jamba Inc. has named Rachel Phillips-Luther chief marketing officer, effective Aug. 9, the company said Tuesday.
Emeryville, Calif.-based Jamba said Phillips-Luther, most recently chief marketing officer at Zoe’s Kitchen Inc., in Plano, Texas, will be based at the new Jamba Support Center, which is relocating from California to Frisco, Texas.
Zoe’s Kitchen said it had started a search to replace Phillips-Luther, who will resign that position effective Aug. 4.
“Rachel brings tremendous energy and an instinctive understanding of the consumer,” said Dave Pace, Jamba president and CEO.
“Coupled with a strong history of success in developing brand strategy and innovation, Rachel has proven her ability to shape brand architecture and develop consumer campaigns that consistently deliver impressive financial results,” Pace continued, adding that Phillips-Luther “will play a critical role as we complete our transition to Texas and expand the marketing discipline at Jamba.”
Phillips-Luther joined Zoe’s in January 2012 after 10 years of restaurant marketing. She formerly led marketing and branding for Kona Grill Inc., the grill and sushi bar concept based in Scottsdale, Ariz. She also served as vice president of marketing for Champps Entertainment Inc.
Jamba Inc. owns and franchises Jamba Juice locations through its subsidiary, Jamba Juice Co. As of March 29, it had 885 units, with 68 of them company-owned. It franchises 752 Jamba locations in the United States and 65 units abroad.
