Stockade Cos. names Vince Runco CEO

He will lead the operator of the Montana Mike’s, Sirloin Stockade, Coyote Canyon chains

Stockade Cos. LLC has named restaurant industry veteran Vince Runco chief executive, the company said this week.

The steakhouse and buffet operator is parent to the Montana Mike’s, Sirloin Stockade and Coyote Canyon chains.

Runco succeeds Tom Ford as CEO at the Round Rock, Texas-based Stockade Cos. Ford plans to continue at Stockade as a franchisee and to maintain his ownership stake, the company said.

Runco most recently was vice president of operations and global franchising for the Paradise Restaurant Group and its Jimmy Buffet’s Cheeseburger in Paradise, Sterling’s Bistro and Steelhouse Tavern brands. Runco began his career as a general manager at Bennigan’s and served as chief executive and president of Metromedia Restaurant Group, which owned the Bennigan’s, Steak & Ale, Ponderosa and Bonanza brands.

Stockade Cos. chairman Doug Frieling said in a statement: “Vince has the ideal blend of operations, strategic brand development, international and franchise leadership and vision to guide Stockade Cos. to a new chapter of growth.”

Stockade Cos. franchises 86 Montana Mike’s steakhouse, Sirloin Stockade buffet and Coyote Canyon steakhouse buffet locations in eight states and Mexico. The company is owned by a management group that includes Frieling, Ford and chief financial officer Steve Schmidt.
