TooJay's Deli names Maxwell Piet CEO

Industry veteran replaces Christopher Artinian

TooJay's Deli has named Maxwell Piet president and CEO, replacing Christopher Artinian, who held both positions and will remain on the West Palm Beach, Fla.-based chain's board of directors, the company said this week.

Most recently, Piet was senior vice president of The Meatball Shop in New York City, where he managed operations, marketing, finance and human resources. He had his first general management position with Darden Restaurants Inc. and his first executive position at Ruby Tuesday, where he started working in 1997 and eventually became vice president of operations.

“Looking ahead, I see exciting opportunities to delight new generations of guests with TooJay’s genuine New York deli tradition, which has timeless appeal,” Piet said in a press release. “Today’s guests crave the authenticity that TooJay’s is known for. As we update our restaurants, open new locations, enhance our menu and utilize the technology our guests prefer, we will always stay true to our great culinary heritage. Great food and experiences are the heart and soul of the TooJay’s brand.”

TooJay's has 27 locations, all in Florida.
