Yum Brands announced the promotion of Elias Oxendine from senior director of IT, government risk and compliance to vice president, chief information security officer, where he will be reporting directly to Yum Brands chief digital and technology officer, Clay Johnson.
“While all of Yum’s employees are protectors of our company information, having a CISO who is not only a subject matter expert but also a proven visionary leader is critical – and I’m elated that we have just that person in Elias,” Johnson said in a company statement on the appointment.
In his new role, Oxendine will be responsible for Yum’s global technology risk management (GTRM) function and will establish processes designed to protect the company.
He joined Yum in June 2020 as director overseeing the Yum Brands IT organization’s governance risk and compliance, and was later promoted to senior director of the department, where he was in charge of communicating to the board of directors oversight and audit committees.
Before joining Yum, Oxendine held multiple IT and security positions of leadership at Brown-Forman and GE and was previously an associate brand manager with Kraft Foods Group. Oxendine is a U.S. Navy veteran and served our country as a naval officer for six years.
