It features “Work neighborhoods” with open floor plans that give employees the flexibility to pick the environment which best fits their needs any time of day and serve as a home base for departments.

Neighborhoods includes huddle rooms, communal tables, workstations, private phone rooms and personal lockers.

In addition to the ground floor public restaurant, the building houses a “Work Café” for employees, with stadium seating, on the sixth floor for employees. It is designed to represent the colorful tubes and tunnels in a PlayPlace, offers a McCafé serving barista style coffee and Canadian pastries, and features a tech bar for employees’ technological needs.

Several outdoor terrace spaces and a ninth-floor fitness center with picturesque views of Chicago.

On the ground floor, McDonald’s recently opened a 6,000-square-foot public restaurant with contemporary furniture and fixtures, wireless charging stations, lounge seating, eight self-ordering kiosks and a pickup counter for UberEats. The restaurant also serves a rotating menu of foods found at McDonald’s restaurants around the world.

Throughout the building are nods to McDonald’s heritage including museum-quality displays of Happy Meal toys, vintage memorabilia and a tribute wall to McDonald’s groundbreaking leaders, inventors and owner-operators.

In addition to the approximately 2,000 people based at the new West Loop neighborhood headquarter, the building is home to the flagship Hamburger University location.
