The federal investigation into McDonald’s e. Coli outbreak is officially closed. The CDC and the FDA both said Tuesday that their investigation into the incident is over.

The newest Pizza Hut looks an awful lot like a typical fast-food restaurant. The concept store in Plano, Texas, features a drive-thru, self-order kiosks and warming shelves for pickup orders.

Chi-Chi’s is making a comeback. The full-service Mexican chain that was forced into extinction by foodborne illness 20 years ago plans to start opening restaurants again next year.

Texas-based Wings N’ More has a new owner. New York-based private equity firm Goode Partners has taken a controlling equity stake in the seven-unit chain, with founder Mark Dennard and licensee David Brimhall as minority owners.

Red Robin is getting some help from its activist investors. JCP Management and Jumana Capital are investing $8.3 million in the burger chain to help it pay down debt. The firms are also getting two seats on Red Robin’s board.
