Wendy’s renames standby chicken biscuit item and offers app deal

Honey Buddy is $1 with purchase through smartphone or website for a limited time

The Wendy’s Co. has renamed its breakfast chicken biscuit and is offering it for $1 with any purchase on its smartphone app through Sept. 30, the company said this week.

The Dublin, Ohio-based quick-service chain said the Honey Buddy, which has been on the menu since the systemwide breakfast launch in 2020, features a buttermilk biscuit topped with breaded all-white meat chicken and a sweet maple honey butter.

“The beloved breakfast sandwich is a harmonious balance of savory and sweet in every bite,” the company said.

Customers can find the $1 Honey Buddy with purchase deal exclusively in the Wendy's app through Sept. 30, refreshing every week, the company said. They can  log into the Wendy's app or create an online account at Wendys.com and select the "$1 breakfast sandwich with any purchase" deal in the "offers" section. The deal can be used on a mobile order or at any participating Wendy's restaurant nationwide by scanning the in-app offer.

"Mondays are hard, and Wendy's Honey Buddy has been a fan-favorite on our craveable breakfast lineup since 2020," said Lindsay Radkoski, Wendy’s U.S. chief marketing officer, in a statement. "Now, fans don't need to brave Monday morning alone, because Wendy's Honey Buddy is available at an unbeatable value."

A company representative said UberOne members can buy one, get one Honey Buddy during the morning hours and they also can get a buy one, get one Spicy Chicken sandwiches for the rest of the day starting July 29 through Aug. 4.

Wendy's, founded in 1969, has 7,000 restaurants systemwide.
