The Ripple Maker is a food grade ink jet printer that adds high resolution images onto cappuccinos, lattes, nitro cold brew coffee, and even cocktails. Download the Ripples app and select a location with a Ripple Maker, then the rest is up to you. Select an image or quote from the Ripples library or get creative and create your own drawing within the app. You can also select a photo from your personal photo library. Upload your selection, order your beverage at the location, and watch the Ripple Maker in action as it prints the image. The Ripple Maker uses only water, coffee extract, glycerin, and lemon juice to create images – no dyes and no preservatives.

Paradis, an Ice Cream Café in Claremont, Ca, recently installed a Ripple Maker. “Our customers love it”, says Keren Blount, manager. “Once one person does, it seems to trigger a chain reaction, then everyone wants to do it. Customers have fun seeing their images and then they take photos and post it to social media.”
Cafes can also upload their own images to their Ripple Machine such as their logo or a promotion. “We featured characters from Star Wars when the new movie came out to encourage customer to stop by before or after the movie to get a cappuccino or latte with their ice cream. There is a movie theater close to our location so we knew there would be plenty of Star Wars fans in the area. It was a very successful promotion for us.”, says Keren.

There are a lot of different methods for making coffee – Aeropress, Chemex, French Press, Kalita Wave and V60 just to name a few. It can be intimating, though, if you are not familiar with these brewing methods or if you want to perfect a recipe, but you aren’t quite sure what to do.
The Single Origin app provides step-by-step instructions and lets you perform each step along with the app, easily moving you from on task to the next. Detailed explanations let you know what is happening during that step along with built-in timers and an area for notes. Recipes can be customized by selecting the throw weight of the coffee Once completed, a summary is provided of the completed recipe including brewing method, the coffee weight, the coffee to water ratio, the start time and the total time. You can then add a rating to your recipe, add notes, and then save it in the log book for future reference.
