There are so many aspects to successfully running a restaurant that small details often get neglected in the hustle and bustle. Food safety is a good example: If a restaurant causes food-borne illness, it could be the end of the business, yet investing in food-safety tools beyond the basics required by law may be an afterthought for some operators.
There are, however, thousands of companies offering goods and services that can help restaurants cover those small details.
Rachael Nemeth, cofounder and CEO of Opus Training, and Christine Schindler, cofounder and CEO of PathSpot, are leaders of two companies that offer these kinds of services for the restaurant industry: Opus is a training platform for frontline hospitality employees, while PathSpot is a system for restaurants that detects harmful contaminants on the hands of employees.
